Camera with integrated IR illumination for ANPR
The latest ANPR camera from Dallmeier has been optimised for number plate recognition in all conditions around the clock with 18 metre range IR illumination.
The DF5200HD-IR-ANPR camera from German surveillance specialist, Dallmeier, has been specifically designed to provide clear imaging of vehicle number plates at day and night in all weather conditions.
The camera is able to achieve this with the use of optical filters, powerful and constant IR illumination and advanced technoogy for its sensor and encoders. The unit has been optimised for use with the SEDOR ANPR server appliance.
By providing infra-red monochrome images, the camera achieves consistent quality with very high contrast and without the effects that daylight conditions have on visible light spectrum images, such as sunlight direction, shadows and weather variations. Also, the camera takes advantage of the extremely high IR reflectivity of modern number plates, which result in brilliant clarity of the images.
Constant high intensity IR illumination is based on semi-covert 850nm LED elements which have a maximum range of 18 metres, which is more than adequate for most ANPR / LPR applications for both access control and enforcement operations.
To cater for network outages, the camera has also been equipped with local memory on which video is saved using the “EdgeStorage” function. After having saved images locally on the camera, the onboard software streams the video at a catch-up high speed level which then reverts to continuous video streaming seamlessly.
