December conference to focus on safety of fuel tankers
The safe transportation of fuel is in focus at an FTA conference being held in December for fuel tanker operators.
The UK’s Freight Transport Association (FTA) has organised a conference for one of the most highly regulated sectors of the freight industry, the road transport of fuel.
Taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on 2nd December 2014, the event will provide vehicle engineers and fleet managers with the opportunity to gain the latest insights and predictions for how regulation and enforcement of the industry will develop.
The Department for Transport (DfT), the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and the Health and Safety Executive will all be in attendance to provide their insights and knowledge as well as advice on ensuring the safety, compliance and efficiency of fuel transport operations.
The agenda of the conference will cover safe tanker operation, regulation and approvals, inspection and certification, enforcement and the 2014 re-launch of the Safe Loading Pass Scheme.
According conference chairman, Andy Mair of the FTA, the event provides a unique opportunity to hear from industry experts and the authorities with responsibility for this sector. Delegates will gain the latest information, guidance and best practice advice for tanker certification and operation.
