Renault launches new high end SUV in China

Beijing International Automobile Exhibition audiences gain the first glimpse of the new Renault Koleos SUV being launched on global markets.

2016 Renault Koleos SUVRenault chose the launch venue of the new model as the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, where Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO, Carlos Ghosn revealed the high-end, totally redesigned SUV designed to be sold in 80 global markets.

The Koleos includes improved visibility, with a driving position which is 150mm higher than traditional saloon cars providing the kind of reassuring feature that large 4×4 buyers like.

User-friendly 4×4 technology features all mode 4×4-i technology, an all-wheel drive system that makes it easy to switch back and forth between 2WD, 4WD AUTO and 4WD LOCK modes. The new Koleos 4×4 transmission also guarantees enhanced safety and stability by neutralising understeer and oversteer and by optimising grip in difficult conditions.

A key feature of the new Koleos interior and travelling comfort is R-Link 2, a connected, personalisable experience. This system serves as a connected control centre to coordinate functions like audio, infotainment, navigation, hands-free telephony, radio and driver aids.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Variable depending on the market in which the car is sold, the Koleos is equipped with a number of driver assistance systems and options, all of which can be controlled via the R-LINK 2 tablet, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), safe distance warning, traffic sign recognition with excess speed warning, blind spot warning, tiredness detection, rear view camera and automatic high/low beam.
