US tyre market forecast to 2019
A new report has been released which examines the market for car tyres from 2015 to 2019 based on market analysis in the USA.
The “Passenger Car Tires Market in the US 2015-2019” report from Research and Markets explores the prospects for the region in tyre sales growth and also examines the main manufacturers, such as Michelin, Bridgestone and Goodyear, that operate in the USA.
Being one of the largest markets globally for tyres, the USA was home in 2011 to over 125 million cars plying the network of over 4 million miles of roads. 40% car ownership in the country indicates a significant market for manufacturers and suppliers to compete over.
Another feature of the USA is its high emphasis in sustainability and a constant approach to examining legislation. Recent tyre disposal legislation changes has seen an increase in the use of used tyres as recycling materials which is having an effect on the market. These rules now cover the tyre industry and it is now the manufacturer’s responsibility to recycle used materials.
The report covers a number of factors that are influencing the tyre industry including oil price fluctuations, reduced fuel prices and the corresponding increase in driver mileage which increases tyre wear and the increase in the USA of more leisure-based motoring, particularly in the off-road and 4×4 sector.
